  • After transferring from the University of Florida, Kara Smith was a distinguished member of the inaugural women's soccer team at Eckerd College in 1997.
  • In her first season the forward led her team with 18 goals scored.
  • Smith came back the next year to help her team to their first 10 win season notching 19 more goals on her way to becoming one of the top players in Division II.
  • In her final season as a Triton, Smith was named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year, scoring 21 goals in just 16 games.
  • She collected 58 goals from 1997-99, which is the most in women's soccer history.
  • In 1999, Smith became SSC Player-of-the-Year.
  • Her 127 career points are also top in the record book.
  • Smith finished first, second and third in single season goals scored and points during her three year run.
