PURPOSE
The purpose of the Eckerd College Athletic Hall of Fame is to honor and recognize those individuals or teams who have made exceptional contributions to the achievements and regard of Eckerd College Athletics. These inductees are honored either by virtue of their performance on athletic teams representing the College, or by meritorious efforts in the years after their graduation.

HALL OF FAME REQUIREMENTS
  • Individuals who attended Eckerd College for a minimum of two years (for those who did not graduate must have left in good academic standing).
  • Teams who demonstrated significant achievement such as an SSC championship or National Tournament appearance. Championship season must have occurred not less than ten (10) years prior to nomination.
  • The athlete will not be considered until ten (10) years after the class in which the nominee entered graduates.
  • A coach or athletic administrator must have served at EC for at least ten (10) years.
  • The nominee must have departed Eckerd College in good standing and continued to demonstrate loyalty, integrity and morality. The record of the nominee must be so outstanding that there is no question as to qualifying for the Hall of Fame.
  • The Selection Committee will use rank choice voting among the nominees. That ranking shall be a point system in which the members with the lowest point total shall receive induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame.
    • Ex: "one" (1) to their top choice, “two” (2) to their second choice, etc.
  • No more than three former student-athlete nominees and one administrator/coach/team/friend of the program may be elected to the Hall of Fame in a single year.
  • There is no limit, however, to the number of times an individual may be considered. In exceptional cases, the above requirements may be waived by a unanimous vote of the committee.
  • The nominee must be present at the induction ceremonies in order to be inducted. However, individuals may be inducted posthumously. If a person is voted in but unable to attend the ceremonies, that person will be contacted in the years to follow until he or she is able to attend.
