ST. PETERSBURG – Madi Winn of the Eckerd women's soccer team has been named the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning
Winn helped anchor the Tritons to an unbeaten week in conference action, posting a 1-0-1 record with a shutout victory over Tampa and a 1-1 draw against No. 1 Florida Tech.
Winn opened the week with a clean sheet against cross-bay rival Tampa on Wednesday. Winn made one save in the 1-0 victory as Eckerd extended its unbeaten streak against the Spartans to five straight matches.
She followed with three saves on the road against top-ranked Florida Tech on Saturday. The Panthers produced 18 shots, including 13 in the second half, but Winn and the Triton defense held Florida Tech scoreless over the final 75 minutes as Eckerd earned a 1-1 draw.
Winn finished the week allowing just one goal over 180 minutes while recording four saves and a 0.50 goals-against average.
The honor marks the fourth SSC Defensive Player of the Week award of Winn's career after earning the accolade three times during the 2025 season.
