Eckerd Hosting Showcase on January 4

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Eckerd softball head coach Michelle Frew '91 has announced her winter showcase on January 4, her second ID camp of the season.

In November, Frew hosted a successful camp, reaching capacity with participants from 20 different states, including Maine, Michigan, Arizona, and California.

Frew returned to her alma mater in June 2024 as the Tritons head softball coach, having 28 years as a head coach at the Division II level and 1,002 career wins.

She spent the last three seasons as the head coach at the University of Charleston, where she led the team to two NCAA Tournament appearances, including the Women's College World Series in 2024 following a program-record 51-8 record.  She won the Mountain East Conference regular season and conference championship in 2023 and 2024 with Charleston.

Familiar with the Sunshine State Conference, Frew spent 25 years as the head coach at Rollins, from 1995-2021. With the Tars, she led the program to 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and five Sunshine State Conference Championships while coaching 12 All-Americans, 122 All-SSC Selections, and five SSC Players of the Year. She is also a four-time SSC Coach of the Year (1998, 2010, 2011, 2021).

The camp is designed for players who are interested in adding to their competitive experience. Participants will be involved in various skill workouts facilitated by Eckerd softball players and coaching staff. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills during live games. Players and their families will take a guided tour of campus.
