Bednoski Named Assistant Softball Coach

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Eckerd softball head coach Michelle Frew '91 has announced Kevin Bednoski as an addition to her staff as an assistant coach.

"We are excited to have Kevin join our staff. He has proven that he is a winner," stated Frew '91. "Our student-athletes will benefit greatly from Kevin's commitment and dedication. He is very passionate about coaching and is eager to help us climb to the top of the SSC. We are very blessed to have him join our staff. Welcome to the Triton family, Kevin!"

Bednoski joins the Tritons staff after spending the last nine years as the head coach at Riverside High School in Leesburg, Va. He led the team to the school's first-ever Virginia Class 5 State Championship in 2024.

"I'm truly honored and excited to join the Eckerd softball family. Thank you to Athletic Director Tom Ryan and Head Coach Michelle Frew for trusting me with this opportunity," stated Bednoski. "Eckerd is a place where we can build something meaningful — a program defined by passion, purpose, and growth. I can't wait to get to work, invest in these student-athletes, and help shape a culture that makes a lasting impact both on and off the field."

Over his tenure at Riverside, Bednoski compiled a 104–34 record. He coached four Washington Post All-Met, 13 All-State, 27 All-Region, and 33 All-District selections. He also won the Potomac District Tournament Championship in 2024 and 2019.

Beyond high school coaching, Bednoski serves as Associate Head Coach for the 18U Virginia Glory National team, working alongside NFCA Hall of Famer Suzy Willemssen.

He is also a key leader at SixFour3, a national network of fastpitch-exclusive, membership-based indoor training facilities, where he helps expand the brand's mission to empower female athletes on and off the field.
