Sofia Persson continues to add to her postseason accolades with a selection to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Coaches' All-American Honorable Mention Team.
Persson from Arvika, Sweden, leads the team with 17.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. She also averages 35.6 minutes, 3.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
She ranks 32nd in the nation in field goals made and 29th in the nation in defensive rebounds per game.
She logged a triple-double this season at Florida Tech (January 18), becoming one of just 14 players in Division II to do so this year.
She posted a 35-point, 15-rebound double-double in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Only two players in program history have scored more points in a single game.
She set the single-season record for points this season at 563 while also setting the career free throw percentage.
She was selected to the south region all-tournament team following Eckerd NCAA Sweet 16 appearance.
She was selected to the All-SSC First Team and D2CCA South Region Second Team earlier this year.
Persson has received four SSC Player of the Week awards this season and six over her career.
She is Eckerd's first All-American since Victoria Vine in 2016-17. She is just the fourth All-American in program history.
