MELBOURNE, Fla. - After averaging 4.5 steals per game last week,
Lauryn Vieira was selected as the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Vieria, a point guard from Haute-Savoie, France, collects the fifth accolade of her career. She averaged 9.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, and 8.5 assists while shooting 46.6 percent from the floor.
She opened action with 10 points, six rebounds, five steals, and five assists in a 72-59 win over Metro State (Colo.). She posted a season-high 12 assists with eight points, four steals, and three rebounds in a 72-67 loss to Colorado Christian.
She ranks eighth in the nation in steals per game (3.8).
