ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd sailing teams capped the fall slate at the SAISA Women's and Open Championships, placing eighth and seventh, respectively.
Eckerd opened the weekend at the SAISA Women's Championship in St. Petersburg, where EC placed eighth with 125 points.
Lily Schwartz and
Eloise Weiss led the A Division with 52 points and a seven-place finish. They placed fourth in the final race.
Sophie Leduc and
Tess Levanway paced the B Division with 73 points in the ninth.
USF won the women's championship with 42 points.
At the SAISA Open Championship at the Doyle Sailing Center, the Tritons finished seventh with 168 points.
Morgan Smith and
Eloise Weiss comprised the A Division, finishing with 85 points and in seventh. The tandem posted five top-five finishes, with a fourth-place finish in race 10 and fifth-place finishes in races No. 2, 3, 7 and 8.
Carter Morin skippered the B Division with
Tess Levanway (1-8) and
Brooks Jordan (9-11) as crew. The B Division had five top-five finishes, highlighted by a pair of third-place finishes in races No. 4 and 6.
Charleston won the open championship with 54 points.
