Richmeyer Joins Volleyball/Beach Volleyball Staff

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Michelle Piantadosi-Lima welcomes the addition of Grace Richmeyer to her staff as an assistant coach for both the indoor and beach volleyball squads.

Richmeyer comes to Eckerd after spending the past two seasons as the assistant indoor and beach volleyball coach at St. Johns River State College in Palatka, Florida, where she was named the Sun-Lakes Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.

During her time with the Vikings, she helped lead the team to remarkable success, including the 2021 Sun-Lakes Conference Title, the first championship for a women's team at SJRSC. The team also finished the 2021 season ranked eighth in the NJCAA National Rankings with a 31-5 record, including a perfect 12-0 mark at home.

"Grace has a diverse skill set coming from St. Johns River, where she had various responsibilities within training and recruiting for both indoor and beach. I was impressed with the successful year they had in 2021 and with her drive to learn and grow at the next level," said Piantadsi-Lima. "I can't wait to work with Grace, and I'm excited about our growing staff for the 2022 season!"

Richmeyer was a standout middle blocker at Bryant University (RI). She led the team to the 2018 Northeast Conference Championship and NEC tournament all four years. She was selected to the NEC All-Tournament Team and NEC Academic Honor Roll. She ended her career ranking fifth in career total blocks and was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

"I'm thrilled for the opportunity to be a part of this coaching staff. I look forward to contributing to the growth of Eckerd's highly competitive programs," added Richmeyer.

Richmeyer also spent two years working in marketing and social media in the corporate sector.

She obtained her bachelor's degree in business administration from Bryant in 2019.
