JACKSON, Tenn. - After collecting Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year accolades, Maya Price collected another postseason honor after being named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-South Region First Team Thursday afternoon.
Price leads the SSC in blocks per game (2.4) while ranking second in field goal percentage (55.8), fifth in scoring with 14.8 points per game, and fifth in rebounds per game (7.1). Her blocks per game rank 19th in all of Division II, and her field goal percentage ranks 17th.
Price earned four SSC weekly awards this season. She was tabbed the defensive player of the week three times and named the player of the week once.
Last week, Price garnered SSC Player of the Year honors, becoming just the third player of the year in program history.
Price now moves on to the All-American ballot, which will be announced next week.
No. 21 Eckerd (20-4) is set to face off against Florida Southern (20-9) on Friday at 8:30 PM for the first round of the NCAA South Regional.
The D2CCA All-Region team is voted on by the region's Sports Information Directors and includes players from teams within the three region conferences.
