MELBOURNE, Fla. - After leading Eckerd to a 24-point Sunshine State Conference victory over Rollins last week,
Maya Price has been named the SSC Defensive Player of the Week.
Against the Tars, Price posted 10 rebounds, nine points, four steals, and two blocks over just 22 minutes. Her four steals set a career-high. She helped the Tritons limit Rollins to a 34.5 field goal percentage.
Price leads the team in four categories this season, averaging 14.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game and shooting 56.5 percent. She ranks 18th in the nation in field goal percentage.
The honor is her fourth career player of the week award and third this season. This season she claimed defensive player of the week on November 29 and player of the week on January 31.
No. 16 Eckerd (16-2; 12-4 SSC) returns to action on Wednesday at Embry-Riddle and Saturday at Florida Southern. Both games are slated for 5:30 PM.
