ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Eckerd women's basketball alum, Zoe Richards '20, recently inked a professional contract for the upcoming 2021 season.
Richards signed with Sinclair McDonald's Rockingham Flames of the NBL1 West Division, based in Western Australia. She becomes the fourth Triton in the past five years to sign a professional contract.
"I've wanted to play in Australia since finishing college, so my agent helped get my name out and put me in touch with some Australian teams," Richards said. "Right now, I'm just so excited and really looking forward to getting on the court and playing with great players and getting lots of experience."
Richards led Eckerd to the 2020 Sunshine State Conference Tournament Title and three straight trips to the NCAA Tournament. Over her three seasons as a Triton, Richards scored 982 points and pulled down 430 rebounds while posting a .566 career field goal percentage. She was named to the All-SSC Newcomer Team in 2018 and All-SSC Second Team in 2020. She also earned four SSC Defensive Player of the Week honors over her career.
