BIG SERIES WIN
- Last weekend, Eckerd knocked off No. 23 Tampa to claim the series, two games to one. In Friday night's opener,
Nikole Van Gennep pitched a one-hit shutout and carried a perfect game into the fifth inning.
Amber Schaad drove in the lone run of the game in the fifth laying down a perfect squeeze bunt as
Dana Paul slide under the tag at home.
- Tampa took the first game Saturday, 5-2, before Eckerd took the finale, 8-3. The Tritons struck first as Van Gennep and
Rachael Luckett both drove in runs with doubles in the first inning.
Kaleigh Floyd and
Crystal Garcia scored in the third off wild pitches before Garcia tripled in the next inning to plate Schaad.
Kayla Saylor capped senior day in the fifth smashing a three-run homer in her final at-bat at the Turley Athletic Complex.
- Van Gennep took both wins in the circle for the Tritons. She struck out six in both contests to earn SSC Pitcher of the Week for the first time in her career.
AT THE PLATE
- A quartet of Tritons – Luckett (.289), Garcia (.283), Armstrong (.246), and Van Gennep (.243) – lead the offense.
- Luckett tops the team with a .289/.390/.401 slash line including nine doubles, one triple, and two home runs while driving in 17. Luckett's at-bats (153), runs scored (31), doubles (9), and walks (24) rank in the top of the conference.
- Garcia collected five hits over the weekend including her second triple of the season. Garcia has also swiped 19 bags, ranking sixth in the conference. Her 165 at-bats rank first in the conference.
- Armstrong leads the team driving in 22 runs and is tied for third in the conference in fewest strikeouts (5).
- Van Gennep has plated 11 runs while lacing eight doubles and one home run.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Van Gennep paves the way for the Tritons on the rubber with a 2.57 ERA earning the win in her past three starts. She ranks in the top of the conference in innings pitched (196.1), wins (14), strikeouts (92), and strikeouts looking (23).

Janna Gaburo and
Grace Willeck work behind Van Gennep splitting time in the No. 2 spot. Gaburo maintains a 4.23 ERA over 54.2 innings. Willeck works with a 4.72 ERA over 69.2 innings while fanning 55.
ABOUT EMBRY-RIDDLE
- The SSC provisional member is coming off a series loss to Barry two games to one. They took one game from Tampa earlier in the season.
- A trio of Eagles hit over .300 with Maggie Scott setting the tone. Scott has ten doubles and four triples while stealing 13 bags. ERU runs the bases aggressively with two other Eagles – Anna Battison (22) and Eryn Chester (15) – in double digits in stolen bases.
- Ilona Andringa and Kassidy Simons work in the circle for the Eagles. Andringa sustains a 1.55 ERA over 167.1 innings while striking out 189. Simons holds a 2.30 ERA over 133.2 innings while fanning 132.
LAST TIME THEY MET
- Embry-Riddle took the series last season two games to one. Eckerd won the opener, 14-1 in five innings. Armstrong went 3-for-3 in the win.
