Five softball student-athletes named to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – A total of five student-athletes from the Eckerd softball program have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon. Brandilyn Reymer, Hannah Taylor, Lex Difato, Gracie Ciccarello, and Mia Hernandez were among those recognized.

The 2026 Academic All-District® softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Reymer, a pitcher from Ashland, Ohio, graduated from Eckerd with a degree in Human Development. She was a Second Team All-SSC selection and was named All-Region by both the NFCA and D2CCA. She boasted a 21-8 record on the mound this season with a 1.79 ERA. She finished with a program record 248 strikeouts and had an opponent batting average of just .186. Reymer led the SSC in strikeouts and innings pitched, and ranked top five in ERA, batting average, and wins. She was a six-time SSC Pitcher of the Week in 2026. She will advance to the Academic All-America voting ballot.

Difato, a First Team All-SSC selection in the outfield from Pembroke Pines, Fla., started all 46 games for the Tritons in the leadoff spot and led the team in batting average at .429. She posted a single-season school record 58 runs scored, also adding three doubles, a triple and a home run. Her batting average is good for second highest in the conference, also ranking second in stolen bases with 34 and fourth in on-base percentage at .494. Difato was named All-Region by both the NFCA and D2CCA. The junior is studying Business at Eckerd and will advance to the Academic All-America voting ballot.

Taylor, a utility player from Brooksville, Fla., was a First Team All-SSC selection, and an All-Region recipient from both the NFCA and D2CCA. She ranked second on the team with a .425 average and finished with a single-season school record 21 doubles to go with 12 home runs and 66 RBI, which is also a single-season program record. Taylor ranked in the top five in seven statistical categories in the SSC, and led the league in RBI and doubles. She was SSC Player of the Week four times this season. She graduated from Eckerd this spring with a degree in Psychology and will advance to the Academic All-America voting ballot.
