ST. PETERSBURG – The Eckerd softball team will host their annual showcase camps as announced by head coach Michelle Frew. This fall, there will be two separate events to choose from. The dates are Saturday, September 19 and Saturday, September 26.

Coach Frew is one of the winningest coaches in NCAA history. Throughout her career, her programs consistently compete for championships, and now, back home, she continues to win. In her first and second seasons at Eckerd, she set school records for winning percentage and wins each season. In 2026, her team compiled a 33-13 record and finished in second place of the Sunshine State Conference. Both of those marks are best in school history.
Over her first two seasons, her players compiled an impressive list of accolades including South Region Player of the Year, SSC Player of the Year, five All-American Awards, nine All-Region awards, and seven players named to the SSC All-Conference Team. Her players also excel in the classroom with players being recognized for their achievements including five being named to CSC Academic-All-District team and 11 garnering the NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete Award.
It is important to note that all of these successes occur at the best location in Florida as Eckerd's campus boasts its own beach in St. Pete. A student can sit on the beach between classes and watch dolphins and manatee swim by.
The Showcase is designed for players who have an interest in adding to their competitive experience. Participants will be involved in various skill workouts facilitated by the Eckerd softball players and coaching staff and then will have the opportunity to showcase their skills during live games scheduled throughout the day. Players and their families will also take a guided tour of campus. Past events hosted by Coach Frew have filled up, and a waiting list will be generated when the event reaches capacity.
