ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd baseball team will look to make a move up the standings in the Sunshine State Conference this weekend as the Tritons host Rollins College in a three-game series.

LAST TIME OUT: The Tritons put together one of their best pitching performances of the season with five pitchers combining on a four-hitter in a 3-1 win over Cedarville (Ohio) at the Turley Athletic Complex.Â
Kevin Plant (2-0) earned the win while
Jack Mahan closed out the game with a perfect ninth inning for his first save.Â
Jake O'Rourke led EC at the plate with a 3-for-4 night.

Daniel Autiello has made the most of his return to Florida after two seasons in Rhode Island. He's hit safely in his last five games and in six of his nine games this season, raising his batting average to .370 along the way. However, the team's longest hitting streak belongs to
Nick Hill who enters the weekend having hit safely in seven straight games. Hill leads the team at the plate with a .447 batting average and has record at least one hit in 12 of 13 games this season. He's also been fantastic in run-scoring situations, going 15-fo-25 with runners on base.
PLATE PRODUCTION: In addition to Autiello and Hill, four other Tritons are hitting .340 or better so far this season:
Tom Buonopane (.364),
Matt MacMahon (.341),
Lucas Luopa (.341) and
Rowdy Andrews (.340). O'Rourke has also been swinging a hot bat as of late with six hits in his last 13 at-bats.
LAST TIME THEY MET: Eckerd opened conference play in 2015 against the Tars and did it in style, sweeping Rollins in a three-game series in Winter Park. The series was capped with a marathon 14-inning contest, which Eckerd took 5-4 after an error on a sacrifice bunt attempt scored
Adam Moreau from second. The Tritons also swept Rollins in 2014.
