LAKELAND, Fla. – Christian Cabina and
Corey Hodierne of Eckerd baseball have been named First Team All-Region by D2CCA, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
Cabina, also a First Team All-Region winner by NCBWA and First Team All-SSC recipient, was second on the Tritons with a .378 batting average, and led the SSC in home runs with 12. He ranked in the top 10 in the conference in seven statistical categories, including second in slugging percentage and fifth in RBI.
Hodierne, a Second Team All-Region selection by NCBWA, and First Team All-SSC recipient, led the Tritons in batting average at .394, finishing with 10 doubles and 48 runs batted in. He swiped 36 steals on 39 attempts, and struck out just 15 times in 188 at-bats. He ranked in the top 10 in nine different statistical categories in the SSC, including No. 1 in steals, No. 3 in batting average, and No. 4 in runs scored. He also landed All-Defensive Team honors from the conference.
