GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three members of the Eckerd Tritons baseball team have been named to the ABCA/Rawlings Division II All-Region Teams, the organization announced Wednesday morning afternoon.
Christian Cabina was awarded a First Team selection, while
Corey Hodierne and
Kam Gelwick landed Second Team honors.
Cabina, an All-SSC First Team selection at first base, was second on the Tritons with a .378 batting average, and led the SSC in home runs with 12. He ranked in the top 10 in the conference in seven statistical categories, including second in slugging percentage and fifth in RBI. This is Cabina's third All-Region honor in 2026.
Hodierne, an All-SSC First Team and All-Defense selection in the outfield, led the Tritons in batting average at .394, finishing with 10 doubles and 48 runs batted in. He swiped 36 steals on 39 attempts, and struck out just 15 times in 188 at-bats. He ranked in the top 10 in nine different statistical categories in the SSC, including No. 1 in steals, No. 3 in batting average, and No. 4 in runs scored. This is Hodierne's third All-Region honor in 2026.
Gelwick, an All-SSC First Team selection in the outfield, led the Tritons and the SSC in doubles with 24, which is an Eckerd program record for most in a single season. He ended in the top 10 in nine different hitting categories in the SSC, and finished second on the team with nine home runs. His 52 RBI are tied with Cabina for most on the Tritons. This is Gelwick's second All-Region honor in 2026.
The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-America teams will be announced on Friday, May 29. Only First Team All-Region selections are eligible for All-America honors. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 17, while the 2026 ABCA NCAA Div. II Region All-Defensive teams will be released on Thursday, June 18.
The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now spans nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first introduced in 2007.
