GREENWOOD, Ind. – Christian Cabina and
Corey Hodierne of Eckerd baseball have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
The 2026 Academic All-District® baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Cabina, a first baseman from Valrico, Fla., graduated from Eckerd with a degree in Business Administration. He was a First Team All-SSC selection and earned All-Region honors from the NCBWA, ABCA, and D2CCA. Cabina was second on the Tritons with a .378 batting average, and led the SSC in home runs with 12. He ranked in the top 10 in the conference in seven statistical categories, including second in slugging percentage and fifth in RBI.
Hodierne, a junior outfielder from Land O'Lakes, Fla, is studying Business Administration at Eckerd. He was also a First Team All-SSC selection and collected three All-Region accolades from each of the NCBWA, ABCA, and D2CCA. He also landed on the SSC's All-Defensive Team. Hodierne led the Tritons in batting average at .394, finishing with 10 doubles and 48 runs batted in. He swiped 36 steals on 39 attempts, and struck out just 15 times in 188 at-bats. He ranked in the top 10 in nine different statistical categories in the SSC, including No. 1 in steals, No. 3 in batting average, and No. 4 in runs scored.
Both Cabina and Hodierne will advance to the Academic All-American voting ballot.
