WINTER PARK, Fla. – Taylor Young's putback with 7.2 seconds left lifted the Eckerd College women's basketball team to an improbable 72-71 upset win at No. 14 Rollins on Saturday.

Young's rebound and layup off an Ashley Lutz miss helped the Tritons (9-4, 3-1 Sunshine State Conference) snap an 11-game home winning streak for Rollins (13-2, 2-2).

Kati Rausberg had 21 points, including five 3-pointers, while Young tallied a season-high 17 points for the Tritons. Krystal Charles added eight points, six rebounds and four blocked shots.

Eckerd finished with seven blocks overall and held Rollins to just 37 percent shooting. The Tritons shot 49 percent.

"We just executed so well offensively," said Eckerd head coach Paul Honsinger. "I'm just so happy for this team. We were prepared mentally, and we came out confident from the start. We hit so many big shots throughout the game."

The game was tied 30-30 at halftime, but the Tritons scored the first seven points of the final half to grab a 37-30 advantage with 18:07 left. Eckerd led 47-38 with 11:54 remaining following a pair of Young free throws.

The Tars eventually tied the game at 55-55 with 5:10 to go and grabbed their first lead since the opening half at 59-58 with 4:19 left.

Eckerd rallied for a 70-66 lead with 1:42 left before Rollins responded by scoring the next five points – taking a 71-70 lead thanks to two Kourtnie Berry free throws with 33 seconds remaining.

After a timeout, Lutz (eight points, six assists) drove the lane and missed a contested layup. But Young ended up with the rebound and scored to give Eckerd the go-ahead bucket. Berry's shot at the buzzer missed – cinching Eckerd's third win in four conference games.

Jasmine Bradley paced the Tars with 16 points, while Paris Moore and Amber Heistan each had 15. Moore also added 10 rebounds.

It was Rollins' first conference loss at home since Eckerd defeated the Tars on Jan. 30, 2008.

"It's definitely the biggest win of my career," Honsinger said. "It was just a great game overall. It went back and forth, but we never stopped competing. It was just a fun game to coach."

The Tritons will travel to Florida Southern for a 5:30 p.m. contest on Wednesday.
