GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The Eckerd Tritons beach volleyball team went 1-1 on Saturday to finish up pool play, defeating the Wayne State (Neb.) Wildcats by a score of 3-1 before falling to the Concordia Irvine Eagles by a final of 3-2.
In the first match of the day vs. the Wildcats, the Tritons earned three straight-set wins to pick up their second victory of the weekend.
Madison Hardbarger and
Anna Jupin collected a 21-17, 21-14 victory at the top flight, while
Jessi Meghreblian and
Addie White secured a swift 21-11, 21-10 decision at No. 5.
Marti Boser and
Emma Samuelson notched a pair of two-point wins at No. 4, defeating their opponents 23-21, 23-21.
In match two against the Eagles, Meghreblian and White grabbed their second win of the day with a 21-16, 21-16 victory at No. 5. Hardbarger and Jupin also followed with their second win, picking up a three-set 19-21, 21-17, 15-9 decision at No. 1. Concordia clinched the match with a pair of straight set victories at No. 2 and 3, and a three-set win at No. 4.Â
Eckerd will await to find out its opponent for tomorrow's action.
