SAINT LEO, Fla. -- The Eckerd Tritons beach volleyball team saw its SSC postseason run come to an end on Saturday as one of the three final teams remaining. Eckerd defeated the host school Saint Leo by a score of 3-2 before falling to the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish by a final of 3-0.
Against Saint Leo, the two teams split the first two matches to conclude, with
Addie White and
Jessi Meghreblian winning at No. 5 by a score of 21-15, 21-11. The Lions grabbed the next match at No. 4, but the Tritons answered with a pair of thrilling three-set battles to clinch the match win.
Madison Hardbarger and
Anna Jupin won at No. 1 by a score of 21-18, 13-21, 15-13 before
Teagan VanderMey and
Ella Kloepper bounced back from a 21-19 first-set loss to take the final two by scores of 21-18 and 15-13.Â
Against Palm Beach Atlantic, the Sailfish won the first three matches to finish at No. 1, 2, and 5.Â
Eckerd will next compete at the AVCA Small College Championships next weekend.Â
