Green '16 Named Assistant Director of Athletics for Internal Operations/Senior Woman Administrator

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Eckerd College Director of Athletics Tom Ryan '87 has announced the promotion of Amanda Green '16 to Assistant Director of Athletics for Internal Operations/Senior Woman Administrator.

"Amanda has been a driving force behind Eckerd's brand and student-athlete experience, and we're thrilled to have her step into this expanded leadership role," stated Ryan. "Her passion for Triton Athletics, strategic vision, and deep connection to the College make her the ideal person to continue building on Becky's legacy."

Now entering her ninth year on staff, Green has steadily risen through the department ranks since rejoining her alma mater. She began her career at Eckerd in 2017 as a Sports Information Intern and quickly advanced to Athletic Communications Coordinator (2018), Director of Athletic Communications (2019), and Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications (2022).

Green played a key role in elevating the brand and voice of Eckerd College Athletics, overseeing the strategic direction of marketing, branding, and communications across Eckerd's 16 varsity programs.

"I would like to thank Tom Ryan and President Annarelli for trusting me with this position," stated Green. "Eckerd has poured into my development from my time as a student-athlete and the last nine years on staff. Eckerd and our student-athletes hold a very special place in my heart, and I am excited to continue to help build our department and impact our Tritons in this new role."

Green's leadership was nationally recognized in 2022 when she was named to the inaugural College Sports Communicators (CSC) 30 Under 30 class. In 2025, she served as the NCAA Site Representative for the Men's Basketball South Region Tournament and was invited to speak on two national panels at the NACDA/CSC Convention: "Maximizing Your Budget" and "Crossover Season Content."

She currently serves on several committees, including the Women's Golf Regional Advisory Committee (RAC), Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Statistics Committee, Eckerd's Staff Engagement Committee, and the Eckerd Athletics Hall of Fame Committee.

Beyond her communications responsibilities, Green plays an integral role in department-wide engagement and community outreach. She leads initiatives for National Girls and Women in Sports Day, World Mental Health Day, drug and alcohol awareness programming, and participation annually in the MLK Day Parade.

She also aids in several fundraising campaigns, including the annual Month of Giving and Tritons Dinner Auction, both of which set fundraising records each of the past three years.

Since taking over Athletic Communications in 2019, Green has led a digital transformation of Triton Athletics, including creating and publishing the department's first-ever Athletic Annual Report, launching a redesign of EckerdTritons.com in 2021–22. She has earned numerous accolades in the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Publications and Digital Design Contest, including "Best in the Nation" honors for winter milestone graphic (2023) and the Annual Report (2024), and multiple top-15 national finishes in creative content categories.

She earned her bachelor's degree in Communication from Eckerd in 2016, where she was a member of the softball team. She completed her Master's in Sports Administration from Wayne State University (Mich.) in 2023.
