ST. PETERSBURG – Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, Sarah Duren, has announced the hiring of Megan Lawson to join the sports medicine staff.
"I am really excited to have Megan Lawson joining our sports medicine team," said Duren. "She is a great addition coming from an outstanding Athletic Training Master's program. Her experience in an NCAA Division I program will heighten the medical services that we will be able to provide to our teams here at Eckerd College."
A native of Omaha, Neb., Lawson will join the Tritons as the fourth full-time athletic trainer on staff. She graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in 2024 with a bachelor's in Exercise Science before wrapping up her Master's in Athletic Training this spring at the University of Nebraska Omaha. Lawson has accumulated various levels of experience, most recently working with Iowa Western Community College as an athletic training student. Additionally, Lawson has worked with Kansas State University football as an AT student, as well as both Creighton University and the University of Sioux Falls.
At Nebraska Omaha, Lawson was the recipient of the Graduate Outstanding Service Award in Athletic Training. She also served in leadership roles throughout her graduate studies, including as Vice President of the Mid-America Athletic Trainers Association Student Leadership Committee and as a district representative for the National Athletic Trainers' Association Student Leadership Committee.
Lawson is expected to begin her duties this fall.
