Eckerd student-athletes post 3.46 cumulative GPA in 2025-26

ST. PETERSBURG – Eckerd student-athletes wrapped up the spring term with a 3.47 grade point average to solidify a 3.46 mark for the 2025-26 academic year. The GPA is the second-highest for a full year, and the 3.45 in the fall was good for second-highest mark all-time for a fall term.

A total of nine teams were at a 3.5 GPA or higher for the year, with 14 programs sitting at 3.2 or higher. Men's tennis led the way with a department-best 3.72 GPA, one of five teams over a 3.6. Men's tennis had a 3.69 in fall term, followed by a 3.75 GPA in the spring. Women's basketball topped the female sports with a 3.665, followed by women's tennis at 3.65, and volleyball at 3.62. Men's golf (3.63), and men's cross country (3.52) rounding out the top three on the men's side.

In November, Eckerd was honored once again for its academic excellence, with the Presidents' Award by the NCAA for an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90. As part of the Division II Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence program, now in its 15th year, Eckerd was one of 43 other Division II institutions being honored for achieving four-year ASRs of 90 percent or higher. Eckerd is among just seven institutions that have received the award every year.
