MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Eckerd winter and spring athletic programs placed 95 student-athletes on the 2025 SSC Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll presented by Barnes & Noble College, released by the conference office on Tuesday, June 24.
Eckerd's 95 recipients are the second most in department history, following 99 honorees in 2020.Â
A total of 2,255 student-athletes were named to the honor roll from the 11 schools. This year's numbers mark the sixth time the SSC has recognized over 350 perfect grade-point averages on the Spring Honor Roll, besting the record of 517 perfect grade-point averages set in 2020 with 521 this year.
To be eligible for the Spring SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00 in the spring term. Participants in the sports of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's lacrosse, women's rowing, baseball, softball, and beach volleyball are eligible for the spring honor roll. Eckerd sailing is not included in the award recipients as it is not sponsored by the conference.Â
Eckerd produced another outstanding year in the classroom with a record 3.52 department GPA over the 2024-25 academic year. EC was again honored for its academic excellence, with the Presidents' Award by the NCAA for an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 91, ranking twenty-eighth nationally. EC has received the Presidents' Award 14 years in a row and is one of just eight schools to earn the award every year since its inception.
