DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Eckerd Tritons men's and women's track team competed on the first day of the Sunshine State Conference Championships on Friday.
Nathalia Mallo and
Marcus Kennedy both advanced to the final round of the 800m after their performances in prelims. Mallo placed third in her heat and sixth overall to advance to Saturday's race, finishing with a time of 2:13.77, a personal best. Kennedy placed both third in his heat and third overall with a PR time of 1:52.96.
Renn Telles also ran the event and clocked a time of 2:01.50, while
Kailani Casazza posted a time of 2:26.58 on the women's side.
The men's 800m finals will be at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, with the women's finals to follow at 2:30 p.m. Telles and Mallo will also compete in the 1500m race tomorrow.
