Clark Receives NAAC Emerging Leader Award

CLEVELAND - Eckerd Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Compliance/Senior Woman Administrator, Becky Clark, has been selected as the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) Emerging Leader Award. 

The Emerging Leader Award recognizes and celebrates compliance professionals with 6-10 years of experience who are emerging leaders within the compliance profession. 

Clark joined the Eckerd Athletics staff in August 2019 as the Internal Operations Coordinator before being promoted to Assistant Athletic Director of Internal Operations in August 2021, where she was also named Eckerd's Senior Woman Administrator. She was elevated once again to Associate Athletic Director, Internal Operations and Compliance/Senior Woman Administrator in March 2024. 

Clark serves on the department's senior management team, running the compliance and business operations elements, and overseeing student-athlete well-being, development, leadership, resources, and serves as the Title IX coordinator. 

This year, Clark spearheaded the Triton Together Peer Mentoring Program, which pairs student-athletes together in order to acclimate new students at Eckerd and provide leadership opportunities to upperclassmen.

Clark serves as the staff advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Nationally, serves on the NCAA Women's Basketball South Region Advisory Committee, NCAA DII Strategic Alliance Matching Grant Selection Committee, and Eligibility Center's Division II Advisory Group. 

In 2024, Clark was selected for the NCAA's Pathway Program, one of just 21 administrators across all three divisions in the cohort. She was selected for the NCAA and D2 ADA Women and Minorities Mentoring Program in 2023 and the NCAA's four-month-long Leadership Academy Workshop (LAW) in 2022. 

Additionally, at Eckerd, she serves on the Intercollegiate Athletics Committee and Hall of Fame Committee, and she is the staff advisor for Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. In the conference, she serves on the SSC's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Appeals Committee.
