JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Eckerd beach volleyball team fell to Jacksonville University 5-0 on the road Friday afternoon.
Dana Dull and Joelle Coulter fell in the first set but rallied to take set two 25-23. They battled but fell in set three, 15-12, in the No. 2 draw.
Sophie Romigh and Mariana Olivares-Cely also rallied in set two taking the set 21-17 before falling in the fifth flight 15-9.
Eckerd dropped the No. 1, 3, and 5 slots in straight sets.
The Tritons opened the day with a 5-0 exhibition win over Saint Johns River State College. All four flights won their matches in two set sweeps. The fifth flight went to the Tritons by default in a forfeit.
The Tritons (3-9) remain in Jacksonville to compete against Saint Johns River State College in an exhibition and JU tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, respectively.
