Four Tritons Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team was well-represented on the annual College Sports Communicators (CSC) annual Academic All-District Volleyball Team, with four Tritons receiving the honor: Stella Antypa, Kalli Schoening, Ashley Eck, and Seiler Hruska

Antypa from Thessaloniki, Greece, boasts a 3.57 grade point average in business. She was selected to the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll last year. She produced a standout season this year, leading Eckerd to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances while being tabbed an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American, AVCA First Team All-Region, and ALL-SSC Second Team. She started all 31 matches, averaging 2.95 kills and 3.12 digs per set. 

Schoening, from Eugene, Oregon, holds a 3.63 GPA in biology. She was tabbed to the All-SSC Third Team this season and was an SSC Defensive Player of the Week. She was selected to the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll last year. Schoening started all 31 games, averaging a conference-leading 1.28 blocks per set. She also averaged 1.48 kills while hitting .271 percent. 

Eck, from Greenwood, Indiana, holds a 3.93 grade point average in marketing. She started in all 31 matches, averaging 4.49 digs, 0.98 assists, and 0.35 aces per set. She was selected to the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll and named to the ALL-SSC Third Team last year. 

Hruska, from  Marquette, Michigan, boasts a 3.5 GPA in biology. Hruska started in 29 matches this season while averaging  2.64 kills, 2.38 digs, 0.39 aces, and 0.38 blocks per set. 

The 2023 Academic All‐District® Volleyball Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.5  or higher in order to qualify for selection. The CSC Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
