Clark, Antypa, Schoening Collect All-SSC Accolades

MELBOURNE, Fla. - After leading Eckerd to its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance, a trio of Tritons - Jaida Clark, Stella Antypa, and Kalli Schoening - have been selected to the Sunshine State Conference Volleyball Team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, November 21. 

Clark, a middle blocker from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, was tabbed to the second team. Clark averaged 2.20 kills, 1.11 blocks, and 0.25 aces per set with a .272 hitting percentage. Her blocks per set rank fourth in the SSC and 44th in all of Division II. On Saturday, she added a career-high eight blocks at Lynn. She posted a career-high 14 kills at Palm Beach Atlantic on November 10. 

Clark was a two-time SSC Defensive Player of the Week this season. 

Antypa, an outside hitter from Thessaloniki, Greece, collects second-team honors. An all-around performer, Antypa leads the team's offense with 2.97 kills per set while hitting .208. She adds 0.39 aces, 3.15 digs, and 0.41 blocks per set. She has posted nine double-doubles this season. 

She posted a career-high 20 digs twice on the season, and a career-high 19 kills at Rollins on November 2. 

Schoening, a middle blocker from Eugene, Oregon, was named to the third team. She tops the team's defense with 1.28 blocks per set while leading the SSC and ranking 10th in the nation. She also adds 1.43 kills per set. She posted a career-high eight blocks in four sets versus  Florida Southern on September 26. 

Schoening was named an SSC Defensive Player of the Week in November. 

Tampa collected coach of the year and defensive player of the year honors in Chris Catanach and JJ Ramirez. Nadia Lindner of Nova Southeastern was tabbed the player of the year, while Emily Edwards of Lynn was selected the setter of the year, and Vavara Osychenko of Barry took home freshman of the year. 

Eckerd earned the No. 4 seed in the NCAA South Regional and will battle Florida Southern on November 30 at 7:30 PM.
