MELBOURNE, Fla. - Following another perfect weekend, senior setter
Krysten Garrison has been named the Sunshine State Conference Setter of the Week.
Garrison, from Piedmont, Missouri, collects back-to-back honors after averaging 11.3 assists, 2.07 digs, and 1.3 kills per set over the weekend while running the Eckerd offense that hit at a .246 percent clip.
She opened play with a 32 assist, 11 dig double-double in three sets against Southern New Hampshire Friday morning. She added 36 assists, seven kills, and six digs in the afternoon versus Emmanuel (Ga.).
Garrison capped the weekend with 48 assists in four sets against Flagler.
This season, Garrison averages 11.48 assists, 1.56 digs, and 1.4 kills per set, while the team is hitting .294. Her 11.48 assists per set currently rank fifth in the nation, while the team's hitting percentage ranks ninth best in all of Division II.
The award is the second straight honor for Garrison and the fourth of her career.
Eckerd (8-0) is off to the best start in program history since at least 1994. The Tritons start SSC play on Thursday hosting Florida Southern at 7:00 PM.
