BASEBALL GAMEDAY: Tritons Open 11-Game Home Stand Hosting Warner

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd baseball team begins an 11-game home stand this evening when the Tritons host Warner (Fla.) University for a 6:00 PM first pitch.

TRITON TIDBITS

• * Eckerd will look to snap a four-game losing streak in tonight's midweek contest.  The Tritons were swept over the weekend in a three-game series at Flagler (Fla.) College after the Saints used late-inning rallies on Saturday to finish the sweep.
• * Dillon McCollough and Jack Mahan combined on a four-hitter on Friday night but lost a pitchers' duel, 2-1, to a trio of Saints hurlers.  McCullough has fanned 20 batters in two starts so far this season.
• * Nick Conti and Sam Cochrane have hit safely in all seven of Eckerd's games this season.  Conti leads the team in batting average (.414) and multi-hit games (4).

ABOUT WARNER

• * The NAIA Royals already have 10 games under their belts this season.  They are coming off a marathon day on Saturday that saw them defeat Florida Memorial, 13-2, before the final game of the weekend series ended in a 10-10 tie due to darkness.
• * Broderick Rodocker and Josh Canabal lead the team with nine RBIs each.  Rodocker hits .341 while Canabal bats .318.
• * One of the team's early wins came over NAIA No. 15 Keiser (Fla.) as the Royals scored a 12-11 upset on the road on January 31 after plating two runs in the top of the ninth.
