WatchTRY IT AGAIN: Today's double-header is a rescheduled date from February 16, when the two teams were rained out. The Tritons swept Southeastern last season in a twinbill in St. Petersburg, 2-1 and 14-5.
POWER COMPANY: The Tritons blasted five home runs - including two grand slams - on Saturday in the first game of the day against Lynn University.Â
Chelsea Armstrong (1) and
Kaycie Duncan (3) both connected on grand slams while
Carrie Shere (7),
Grace Willeck (1) and
Nikole Van Gennep (2) had solo shots. Shere's seven home runs ranks second in the SSC.
CLEARING THE BASES: As Armstrong and Duncan showed on Saturday, they are two players opposing pitchers don't want to face with the bases loaded. Duncan is 4-for-5 with the bases full while Armstrong is 3-for-5. The duo also excels at driving in runners from third base with less than two outs; Armstrong had 12 RBIs in that situation while Duncan has 11.
STAY HOT: Eckerd bounced back nicely from a six-game skid, winning 10 of its last 11 games. The streak has helped move the Tritons into fifth place in the conference standings with an important series with Barry coming up over the weekend.
