DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. - Weather prevented the Eckerd beach volleyball team from finishing both rounds of its dual match today at Florida Atlantic. The Tritons fell to FAU in the first round, 5-0, and had yet to complete a match in the second round before the rest of the contest was canceled.
Eckerd (8-9) was swept at all five position and in the exhibition match by the NCAA Division I Owls.
Tjasa Kotnik and
Kaitlyn Sibson battled in the No. 1 spot against Gabrielle Dischler and Delaney Clesen but came up just short in both sets.
Madison Whiting and
Arielle Erillo took the team of Heather Weiss and Brittany Pelliterri to extra points in the first set, as did
Kali Boatwright and
Stephanie Bogda did with their opponents in the second set at the No. 4 position.
The Tritons return to the courts on Tuesday, April 5, hosting their final home contest of the season when Florida Gulf Coast, another NCAA Division I program, comes to campus for a 4:00 PM dual.
