Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College women's basketball team got back on track with a 74-66 victory over Lynn University on Saturday night.
Earlier in the year when the two teams met, EC (16-6, 6-5) was quick to put the Knights (7-13, 1-10) away and took home the victory.
The Tritons set the pace early and had Lynn scrambling to catch up in the first half. A quick pass from

Jordyn Alexander under the basket gave EC a 14 point lead with 11 minutes remaining in the half.

Trine Kasemagi drove the paint and went up for two.
Rana Thomas followed on the next possession dropping in one of five three pointers of the game. EC went into the locker room with a 19 point lead.
Lynn got within 11 of the Tritons before the team pulled away.
Margaret Sundberg threw up two deep threes and sent the Tritons on a 15-3 run late in the second half.
Eckerd finished the night with a perfect 11-11 from behind the line. Kasemagi led all scorers throwing up 21 points and Thomas trailed by one finishing with 20. Alexander also finished the night in double digits with 11.
As a team, EC combined for 15 steals and scored 23 points off of turnovers.
"Our defense gave us a big lift today," said Head Coach, Paul Honsinger. "We managed to get a lot of steals which turned into easy transition points. Overall I was please with our effort and energy tonight."Eckerd will face the University of Tampa on Wednesday for the second time this season. The two teams met earlier in the year with EC coming out on top in an upset. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
