LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2014-15 All-American Scholar Athletes on Tuesday, October 6, and the Eckerd College softball team was well-represented.
The Tritons placed seven players on the list as one of four Sunshine State Conference institutions that had athletes qualify for the honor. Those receiving the award were
Kiana Sladicki,
Brittany Mitchell,
Kiley King,
Erin Dixson,
Chelsea Armstrong,
Grace Willeck and
Sydney Dinelli.
To qualify for the award, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
A total of 5,493 athletes across all divisions earned the honor. NCAA Division II placed 833 on the list. Rollins led the way for the SSC with 11 honorees.
"We are very proud of what our players were able to accomplish in the classroom," said Eckerd head coach
Josh Beauregard. "These young ladies are examples of outstanding student-athletes."
