LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior
Lindsay Biggs and junior
Katarina Milojevic continue to reel in the postseason accolades after being named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-South Region Team announced earlier this afternoon.
Biggs is now a three-time selection, receiving the honor in her sophomore and junior seasons. She was also an AVCA Second Team All-American in 2012 and a Third Team All-American in 2011.
The Honorable Mention AVCA award is Milojevic's first time being recognized by the organization.
Together, the two have helped guide the Tritons into the NCAA Tournament -- the Tritons' seventh appearance in the last eight years. No. 3 seed Eckerd will face No. 6 seed University of West Florida in the opening round in Tampa on Thursday at 12 p.m. EST.
Biggs leads the Tritons in kills (352), service aces (38) and points (419.5) on the season, and she has climbed to second on Eckerd's career kills list behind Lydee Benoit with 1,481 career kills.
The Topeka, Kan., native slammed a season-high 24 kills against Valdosta State University on Oct. 18, and she ranks third among SSC players in kills, service aces and points.
Throughout the season, Milojevic has been a force at the net, as she leads the Tritons in blocking and ranks second among SSC players with 134.0 total blocks and 1.31 blocks per set.
Milojevic was tabbed SSC Defensive Player of the Week on three occasions this season. She has also posted double-digit blocking numbers on three occasions, collecting a season-high 11 twice against Florida Tech on Oct. 25 and Rollins College on Nov. 9.
Both Biggs and Milojevic were part of a prestigious group to comprise the 2013 All-Sunshine State Conference Team, also announced earlier in the week.
