The Tritons (9-16-1) took advantage of errors made by the Chargers (5-5) in the first innings, scoring five unanswered runs.  Kirsten Cox and Sarah Agnew were responsible for four of those run, both hitting two-run doubles deep into the outfield.  The Tritons scored four more runs in the bottom of the fourth, adding on to their lead, 9-0.

The start of game two went differently for the Tritons, as the Chargers took a 6-0 lead in the top of the third inning.  Eckerd was able to cut the lead down to three, scoring on base hits from Alex Sasso and Cox.  Eckerd scored another run in the bottom of the fourth, to bring the score to 6-4.  Hillsdale continued to extend their lead over the Tritons, scoring two more runs in the top of the fifth inning, making the score 8-4.  Eckerd was able to quickly tie the game up later on that inning, scoring four runs, three of which came from Meagan Camp's base hit up the middle.  The Tritons were able to add another run in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead, but Hillsdale added one of their own in the seventh, bringing the game into extra innings.

Eckerd's defense was able to shut down the Chargers in the eighth inning, holding them to no runs and one base hit.  Dawson had the winning base hit for the Tritons in the bottom of the eighth, bringing home Sasso with her hit up the middle.

Dawson received the win for the Tritons.  She pitched the first three innings of the game before being replaced by Sasso, who pitched 3.2 innings.  Dawson returned to the mound when the Tritons had a 9-8 lead in the top of the seventh, giving up one run to make it a tied game.  After giving up a hit in the eighth inning, she quickly shut down the Charger offense, forcing them to pop up to the outfield.  Dawson and Sasso combined for three strike outs, three walks, nine runs, and gave up 12 hits.

Cox led the offense for Eckerd for both games.  With a .714 batting average, she went 5-for-7 with two runs and five runs batted in.  Agnew went 4-for-6 with two runs and three RBI's, while Dawson, Emily Wiemken, and Camp each had four hits on the night.  Camp ended with six RBI's.

The Tritons will be back in action tomorrow as they host Barry University in a Sunshine State Conference series at the Turley Athletic Complex.  First pitch is set for 7:00 pm.
