Volleyball Adds Two in Early Signing Period

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Lindsay Biggs and Madison Burr are the two newest members of the Eckerd Volleyball team as announced by Eckerd Head Coach Courtney Draper following the early signing period.

Biggs, a 5-11 outside hitter, comes to Eckerd following a highly successful high school career under Coach Jessica Farmer-Walter at Hayden High School in Topeka, Kan. Included in her numerous accolades are three First Team All-City selections as well as three First Team All-State honors and a 4A State Player of the Year selection following the 2009 season. Biggs was also a finalist for the 2009 Gatorade State High School Player of the Year Award.

Burr, a product of St. Clair, Mich., is a 5-8 setter who played under the tutelage of Coach Jessica Tomlin at St. Clair High School. While playing for the Saints, Burr excelled on the court and in the classroom, earning three All-Area selections, an Area Player of the Year award in 2009, and All-State Academic Team honors.

Draper and Assistant Coach Kelly Morrisroe continue to recruit and retool the program's roster following a 20-12 2009 season that saw the Tritons reach their program-best fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearance and first-ever NCAA Tournament victory.
