ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -

Kati Rausberg led all scorers with 16 points as the Eckerd Tritons (6-7, 1-4 SSC) defeated the Florida Tech Panthers (8-8, 0-5 SSC), 61-50, on Saturday afternoon at the McArthur Center.
In the first half, the Panthers 13-6 lead after a jumper by Lindsay Greene with 13:48 to go before eventually climbing out to a 20-11 lead on a three-pointer by Ashton McClairen with 10:06 in the stanza. Eckerd, however, would respond with a 10-1 run, taking 21-20 lead on a fastbreak layup by Lutz with six minutes to go. The Panthers, however, would regain the lead and settle for a 28-26 halftime lead.
Eckerd shot 36 percent from the field in the half while Florida Tech shot 37.5 percent but this proved to be no indication of the second half to come as the Tritons would explode for a 60 percent shooting output while holding Tech to just 25 percent.
After a Lynisha Nelson layup tied the game at 37 apiece, Eckerd would take the lead on another basket by Lutz with 13:03 to play. Lutz's basket would spark Eckerd on an 11-4 run, capped by a three by
Taylor Young giving the Tritons their largest lead up to that point at 51-41 with seven minutes to play. A pair of made free throws by Rausberg with 11 seconds left would account for the game's final 11-point margin.
Young added 14 points and six rebounds while
Tijana Brdar poured in 12 points while adding six rebounds, six assists, and three blocked shots. Nelson, who dished out eight assists, and McClairen led the Panthers with nine points each.
