MELBOURNE, Fla. – Eckerd volleyball's Hayden Nash and Sydney Williams have been named the SSC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Nash totaled 28 kills while hitting .349 across six sets, helping lead Eckerd to a perfect 3-0 weekend. She also added four blocks and two service aces. She opened the weekend with 13 kills on a .417 hitting percentage against Franklin Pierce before adding 15 kills while hitting .308 against Henderson State. Nash was also named the Triton/Lion Invite MVP following the conclusion of the tournament.
Williams anchored the Tritons defensively throughout the weekend, totaling 57 digs over 10 sets for an average of 5.70 digs per set. She recorded 16 digs against Georgia College before posting a weekend-high 23 digs versus Franklin Pierce. Williams closed the tournament with 18 digs against Henderson State. She also contributed eight assists and two service aces and was named to the Triton/Lion Invite All-Tournament Team.
Eckerd swept all three matches during the tournament, earning victories over Georgia College, Franklin Pierce, and Henderson State.
