MELBOURNE, Fla. – Faith Wharton of the Eckerd softball team has been named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
In a series win over Rollins, Wharton led the Tritons at the plate, batting .700 (7-for-10) to help secure two victories over the Tars. She totaled seven runs batted in, along with a double and a home run across he weekend. In game two of the series, Wharton delivered a perfect performance at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run.
Wharton is the fourth Eckerd softball student-athlete to win SSC weekly honors this season.
