SAINT LEO, Fla. – Reggie Fear of the Eckerd men's golf team was the runner-up at the Sunshine State Conference Tournament across Monday and Tuesday, tying for second with a score of -5.
Fear entered the final round of Tuesday in second after shooting round scores of 70 and 71 in the first two rounds on Monday. He hit six birdies on Tuesday to match his first round score and move to 5-under par. After finishing the 18 holes, he sat in a tie for first place, but fell down to second after Monday's leader moved back atop the standings. Fear was named to the SSC All-Tournament Team following play.
Henry Wigg jumped up 17 spots into a tie for 17th after posting a tournament-best round on Tuesday at 4-under. He made a 13-stroke improvement from round one to round three to finish inside the top 20.
Josh DiZinno climbed five spots into 41st overall on Tuesday after shooting a 72, his best round of the tournament.
Tyler Van Dusen moved two spots up on the leaderboard in 45th after his +2 effort, while
Drew Campbell rounded out the Tritons' five in 47th.
Eckerd finished in ninth place as a team, moving up one spot from its standing following Monday.
