LAKELAND, Fla. -- Grady Bivens of Eckerd baseball has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) South Region Pitcher of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
Bivens earned his sixth win of the season, remaining undefeated with a 10-0 shutout victory over Florida Southern on Friday. In seven innings, he recorded 10 strikeouts, allowed just four hits, and did not surrender a
run. He also posted a perfect fielding percentage with one putout. Bivens moves on to the NCBWA National Player of the Week ballot to be announced on Thursday.
He is the second Eckerd pitcher to earn this award this season, joining teammate
Tyler Brashear.
