LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Eckerd men's golf team earned a fifth overall team standing at the two-day Matlock Classic at Lone Palm GC on Monday and Tuesday.
Reggie Fear led the Tritons with a second-place finish individually, ending 9-under par with a score of 207. Fear had his best effort come in round one, shooting a 67 for -5. He followed it up with a 71 in round two and 69 on Tuesday.Â
Henry Wigg was next in Eckerd in 28th place after shooting a 221 across the three rounds. Wigg bounced back from a 77 in round one to shoot a 71 to close out Monday before tallying a 73 in the third and final round.
Josh DiZinno and
Tyler Van Dusen both notched a top 50 placement in a tie for 49th with a score of 227. DiZinno moved up on the leaderboard after posting a tournament-best 74 on Tuesday, while Van Dusen saw his best score of 74 come in the opening round.
Julian Lombisano rounded out the five for the Tritons in 54th with a score of 228.
Eckerd will be back in action Feb. 16-17 for the Saint Leo Invite.Â
