Eckerd softball winter camp scheduled

ST. PETERSBURG – The Eckerd softball team will host its annual Winter Showcase Camp on Saturday, January 9, as announced by head coach Michelle Frew.

REGISTRATION WEBSITE AND INFORMATION

The camp provides prospective student-athletes with an opportunity to develop their skills, compete in live games, and experience Eckerd College's campus.

Frew's camps have consistently reached capacity since 2008, including every event hosted at Eckerd. This fall, participants traveled from 26 states and Canada to attend.

One of the winningest coaches in NCAA history, Frew is approaching 1,200 career victories. In her first two seasons at Eckerd, she has guided the Tritons to consecutive program records for wins and winning percentage. Last season, Eckerd finished with a 33-13 record and placed second in the Sunshine State Conference, both program bests.

Under Frew's leadership, Eckerd student-athletes have earned numerous accolades, including a South Region Player of the Year award, an SSC Player of the Year honor, five All-America selections, nine All-Region honors, and seven All-SSC selections.

The Tritons have also excelled academically, with five student-athletes earning College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition and 11 receiving National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete honors.

Located on the waterfront in St. Petersburg, Eckerd College offers a unique campus experience, including its own beach along Boca Ciega Bay.

The Winter Showcase Camp is designed for players looking to enhance their competitive experience and showcase their abilities. Participants will take part in skill development sessions led by Eckerd's coaching staff and student-athletes before competing in live games throughout the day. Players and their families will also have the opportunity to participate in a guided campus tour.

Space is limited, and registration is expected to fill quickly. A waiting list will be established once the camp reaches capacity.
