MELBOURNE, Fla. – Nell Doe and Madi Winn of the Eckerd women's soccer team have been named the SSC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning.
The duo helped lead the Tritons to a pair of shutout victories over Barry and Palm Beach Atlantic last week, capping an unbeaten SSC regular season.
Doe earned her second consecutive SSC Offensive Player of the Week honor in a row fter recording two goals and two assists for six points across the two contests. The freshman opened the week by scoring Eckerd's second goal in the 42nd minute of a 2-0 road victory over Barry on Wednesday. She then followed with a four-point performance in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic. She assisted on Eckerd's first two goals, setting up Gaby Ruz in the 35th minute and Nadia Buist less than two minutes later. Doe then found the back of the net herself in the 44th minute to extend the Tritons' lead to three.
Winn earns her second SSC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season and the fifth of her career after posting consecutive shutouts in goal.
The senior opened the week with four saves against Barry, helping the Tritons secure a 2-0 victory while facing six shots. Winn followed with another clean sheet against Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, making one save as Eckerd limited the Sailfish to five shots, including just one on goal.
