INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Eckerd women's soccer team climbed one spot to No. 19 in the latest NCAA Power Index (NPI) rankings, released Monday, October 26.
The Tritons continue their climb in the national rankings after debuting at No. 24 on October 12 and moving to No. 20 last week.
Eckerd's rise follows two wins over Barry and Palm Beach Atlantic last week. The Tritons finished unbeaten in Sunshine State Conference play, finishing their conference slate with a 6-0-4 record.
The NPI is the NCAA's new ranking system used to evaluate Division II teams for postseason selection. The system considers factors such as wins, losses, strength of schedule, and quality victories.
The rankings will now be updated daily, Monday through Friday, as teams approach postseason competition.
