ST. PETERSBURG -- Eckerd student-athletes posted a 3.45 cumulative GPA across the department in the fall 2025 semester, good for second-highest mark all-time for a fall term.
A total of 12 teams boasted a cumulative GPA of over 3.2, while seven of those were over a 3.5. Men's tennis led the way with a department high of 3.69, one of three men's teams over 3.5. Men's golf was next with 3.62 and men's cross country had a 3.54. Three teams on the women's side earned a 3.6 or higher, with women's basketball the leader at 3.68. Women's tennis was next at 3.65, and women's soccer rounded out the top three with. 3.61.
In November, Eckerd was honored once again for its academic excellence, with the Presidents' Award by the NCAA for an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90. As part of the Division II Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence program, now in its 15th year, Eckerd was one of 43 other Division II institutions being honored for achieving four-year ASRs of 90 percent or higher. Eckerd is among just seven institutions that have received the award every year.
